Respite Care
Caring for a loved one is a rewarding but often demanding role. Evergreen Care's respite services provide short-term accommodation and care for seniors, offering carers a well-deserved break to rest, recharge, or attend to other commitments. It also provides a change of scenery and a chance to socialise for the person being cared for.
Types of Respite Care
We offer flexible respite options to suit your needs:
- Planned Respite: Book a short stay in advance for a planned holiday, appointment, or just a regular break.
- Emergency Respite: We can provide care at short notice in the event of an emergency or unforeseen circumstance.
- Transitional Care: Respite can be a valuable option for individuals who are recovering from a hospital stay and are not yet ready to return home.

Benefits of Respite Care
- For Carers: Respite provides an essential opportunity to take a break, prevent burnout, go on holiday, or simply catch up on everyday life, knowing that your loved one is receiving professional and compassionate care.
- For Residents: A short stay with us can be a mini-holiday. It's a great way to experience life at Evergreen Care, make new friends, try new activities, and enjoy a change of scenery in a supportive environment. It can also serve as a trial period before deciding on permanent residential care.
How to Arrange Respite Care
To access government-subsidised respite care, you will need an assessment from My Aged Care (an ACAT assessment) that approves you for respite care. You can use up to 63 days of subsidised respite care in a financial year.
We also offer private, non-subsidised respite care. Please contact our friendly admissions team to discuss your needs, check for availability, and learn more about the process. We are here to help make the process as simple as possible.
