Pastoral Care at Johnson Road School

Our comprehensive pastoral care system is at the heart of Johnson Road School, ensuring that every student feels supported, safe, and connected. We believe that strong pastoral care is essential for students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our Pastoral Care Philosophy

We adopt a holistic approach to pastoral care, focusing on the overall wellbeing of each student. Our system is built on strong relationships, open communication, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing student needs.

  • Dedicated Staff: Every student has a dedicated form teacher or dean who is their primary point of contact and advocate.
  • Safe and Inclusive Environment: We foster a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding, where diversity is celebrated.
  • Early Intervention: Proactive identification of student needs and timely support from our pastoral care team.
  • Parent Partnership: We work closely with parents and whānau to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student wellbeing.
